Chris Grun – Master Class
Learn digital matte painting, compositing and visual effects from CHRIS GRUN—The matte painting department chair at DreamWorks Animation. Prior to joining DreamWorks in 2013, Grun served as senior art director at Rhythm and Hues in Los Angeles for six years, as well as working at game design company Electronic Arts.
Grun’s feature film credits include THE HUNGER GAMES, SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, LIFE OF PI, CHRONICLE and more. Grun is a UW-Stout Alumnus and serves on the BFA in Entertainment Design program advisory committee.

- Learn how professional visual effects artists plan and execute complex visual effects shots and sequences.
- Technical Demonstrations.
- Explore case studies from well known films.
- Discuss your project with Chris and get his feedback on planning your shots.
Evening shooting exercises and open studio / lab. Access to green screen studio.
Sunday July 17th

The Chippewa Valley Film Festival (CVFF) will be held at Micon Cinemas Downtown, 7pm Saturday, April 23, 2016. For this year, the festival will showcase short films that are no more than twenty minutes in length. The art of the short film is creating compelling images and sound that support an excellent structured plot, all within a few minutes.
The organizers have received over nine hundreds entries for the festival. Entries have come from local, regional and international filmmakers and include a broad range of genres: drama, comedy, animation, documentary and experimental.
The event will be organized into two programs with a question and answer with the attending filmmakers between the programs. After the event, the audience will have the opportunity to meet the attending filmmakers and discuss their films.
Tickets for festival can be purchased April 8 at Micon Cinemas Downtown or buy line at miconcinemas.com beginning April 1, 2016. Doors will open at 6pm.

Very pleased to announce that Eric Fletcher will be a speaker at the 2015 UW-Stout Summer Cinema and Photography Open House on June 19th. He will also conduct a full day master class on June 20th. More info HERE
Eric has been operating film and digital cameras for over two decades earning 12 emmys. His credits include hit shows like DEXTER, TRUE BLOOD, SHAMELESS, PRIVATE PRACTICE, SONS OF ANARCHY, THE MENTALIST, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ARLI$$, ANGEL, and more. Before that, he worked as a camera assistant. He admits he has always tinkered with rigs, continually trying to improve his tools. All of this hands-on experience with a variety of cameras through the years has given Eric a deep knowledge in camera performance, handling and efficiency.
In the mid 90’s Eric won a string of Emmy’s for his work with KMOV-TV the CBS Affiliate. Twelve Emmy’s actually for being the director of photography on special programs and also all the stations image spots and bumpers. In addition to those twelve for him another 24 Emmys were garnered for other projects he was involved with with the same group. In 2001 Eric moved full time to Los Angeles where he put his skills and eye to work doing TV series and films. Eric has been consulting with equipment manufactures like Arri, Anton Bauer, GPI PRO The Vitec Group, Teradek and Nikon working closely to make the equipment perform on set better and more efficiently and to follow his philosophy of “Don’t let your equipment limit you”. Eric currently resides in Los Angeles when not traveling the world for work.
